Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pete Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reed's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Return of the Mack. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pete Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Marsh!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed throws a right and a left that both miss.

Marsh closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reed did well to prevent Marsh getting side control.
Marsh works his way into full mount!

Marsh is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reed is surviving well by controlling Marsh's body position as best he can.
Reed keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Marsh looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Reed wants to control but Marsh is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marsh controlling the pace for now.

Marsh has hold of Reed's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reed manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Marsh is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Reed to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Reed shrugs it off.
Reed is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Marsh looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reed takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Reed is trying desperately to improve position.
Reed has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Marsh working for the choke.

Marsh is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Reed has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Marsh looks gassed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marsh is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Reed. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Well, with Marsh on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Reed is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
You can see the frustration on Reed's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Marsh controlling the position well here. Reed rolled but Marsh kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Marsh patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Reed just trying to survive but Marsh is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Reed is trying to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is taking a good look at Reed as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Marsh!

Reed is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Marsh gets his way!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Reed wants to control his opponent's hands but Marsh gets his hands free.
Reed manages to reverse the position and now he's in Marsh's guard. Nice work there by Reed.
Marsh looking for a sweep. Not yet Marsh, not yet.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Marsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marsh has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Marsh is trying to keep Reed in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Marsh dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Marsh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reed throws out the jab.

Reed on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Marsh content to control rather than advance.
Marsh wants to control but Reed is keeping him busy.
Marsh is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Marsh is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Reed has managed to free his arm - good work.

Marsh tries to pass to full mount but Reed defends it.

Marsh is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Marsh controlling the pace for now.
Marsh is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Reed has left one of his arms exposed and Marsh doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Reed screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kris Marsh!
