Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heikki Kuula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Kleinsasser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuula comes into the arena with Heikki Kuula - Sun Nimi On Kuula blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Heikki Kuula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Melvin Kleinsasser!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuula stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kuula wants it to stay on the feet.
Kuula throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kleinsasser stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Kuula drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kuula works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kuula takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kleinsasser wants to control but Kuula is keeping busy.
Kuula thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kuula slips a nice elbow through Kleinsasser's hands, connecting with Kleinsasser's forehead.
Kuula wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kleinsasser keeps working.
Kuula will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kuula missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kuula lands a nice short elbow.

Kleinsasser wants to get back to full guard.
Kuula controlling the pace.

Kuula is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kleinsasser avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kuula.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kuula not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kuula wants to control but Kleinsasser is keeping him busy.
Kleinsasser trying to control but Kuula postures up.
Kuula prevents Kleinsasser from improving his position.
Kleinsasser is pressing down on Kuula's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kuula's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kuula has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kleinsasser looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kuula is one step ahead there.
Kuula looking to pass the guard.

Kleinsasser looking to control.
Kuula postures up in Kleinsasser's guard and throws a big left but Kleinsasser blocks it.
Kuula thows a big elbow that misses.
Kuula wants to control from the top but Kleinsasser keeps moving.
Kuula won't allow Kleinsasser to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kleinsasser is looking to chop away at Kuula's legs.
Kuula scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kleinsasser fails with the takedown
and Kuula counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kleinsasser throws a sloppy head kick and Kuula moves out of range easily.
Kuula scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Kuula bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kuula lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kleinsasser down.
Kuula throwing strikes but Kleinsasser manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Kuula can't do much from the bottom here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kuula gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kleinsasser not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heikki Kuula dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kuula lands a head shot.

Kuula scores with a punch to the head.
Kleinsasser has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kleinsasser there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kuula lands a nice looking body shot.
Nice shot lands for Kuula.
Kleinsasser takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Danga de danga de dang - Kuula scores with a four punch combination!
Kuula listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Kuula avoids the head kick by Kleinsasser.
Kuula blocks a head kick by Kleinsasser.
Kleinsasser lands a head kick. Kuula smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Kleinsasser on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kleinsasser tries to land a leg kick but Kuula saw it coming and moves away.
Kuula bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kleinsasser's head backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kuula drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kuula wants to control from the top but Kleinsasser keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kuula tries to free his leg and advance position but Kleinsasser is retaining full guard.
Kuula thows a big elbow that misses.
Kuula looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kuula is in close to Kleinsasser's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kuula looking to pass the guard.
Kuula missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kuula postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kuula trying to control but Kleinsasser is working from the bottom.
Kuula throws a big right hand that misses.
Kuula trying to control the position from guard on top but Kleinsasser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kuula is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kleinsasser is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kleinsasser is trying to control the position but Kuula postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kleinsasser plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Kuula shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kuula stalling away here and it's allowed Kleinsasser to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Kuula is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kleinsasser is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kleinsasser has escaped and now he's on top!
Kleinsasser won't allow Kuula to sweep him here.

Kuula utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kuula keeping moving, preventing Kleinsasser from controlling successfully.

Kuula has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kleinsasser should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kuula has tightened it up now! Kleinsasser should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
