Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane O Neill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane O Neill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Bone!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Neill tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bone tries to score a power double leg takedown but O Neill sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bone somewhat.
O Neill ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
O Neill fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bone has a takedown stuffed.
Bone closes the distance and clinches up with O Neill, looking for a takedown. Bone pushes O Neill against the cage but O Neill circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shane O Neill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Bone.

O Neill feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
O Neill slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
O Neill wants to control from the top but Bone keeps moving.

O Neill thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
O Neill stands up over Bone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
O Neill tries to free his leg and advance position but Bone is retaining full guard.
O Neill throwing strikes from guard but Bone blocks nicely.
O Neill slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bone can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
O Neill is stalling in the full guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bone has eaten all the pies!
O Neill has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
O Neill is fighting to break Bone's control of his arms but Bone is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
O Neill stands and throws Bone's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bone is looking for a sweep.
O Neill tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
O Neill trying to control the action but Bone is working from the bottom.
O Neill is chipping away with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
O Neill happy to just control the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
O Neill working the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bone is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
O Neill moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bone.
O Neill regains half guard.
Bone stalling.
It looks like Bone is going to stand back up.

Bone not doing much here.
Bone prevents O Neill from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
O Neill has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bone is working away from the top position though.
O Neill regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bone trying to control but O Neill is working from the bottom.
O Neill seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

O Neill is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
O Neill will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Bone controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now O Neill is on top in guard.
O Neill throws a strike but Bone rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
O Neill is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
O Neill wants to sweep here but Bone controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but John Bone will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


O Neill throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Bone gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and O Neill counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bone thinking.

Bone looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now O Neill is on top in guard.
O Neill working some strikes from top position.
Bone keeping moving, preventing O Neill from controlling successfully.
Bone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
O Neill is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
O Neill cracks Bone with a solid left hand.
O Neill postures up and lands a big shot to Bone's brow.
O Neill not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
O Neill's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
O Neill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
O Neill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Shane O Neill just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Bone is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Some wild striking there from O Neill.
O Neill looks to score with a jab to the body but Bone is just out of range.
Bone misses with a takedown attempt

and O Neill counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bone avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bone is trying to keep O Neill in close.
Shane O Neill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
O Neill wants to control from the top but Bone keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
O Neill slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
O Neill stands up over Bone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
O Neill sitting in guard, not really doing much.
O Neill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bone is proving hard to escape from.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well O Neill has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
