Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filthy McNasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNasty is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Burn it to the ground-Nickelback. Mr Phil Davis is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mr Phil Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Filthy McNasty!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis rushes McNasty and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
McNasty drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McNasty pulls Davis into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McNasty has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McNasty working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davis.

McNasty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McNasty is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Davis is looking to improve his position.

McNasty seems to be working for a kimura but Davis defends the submission attempt.
Davis is in trouble now - McNasty has advanced to mount!

McNasty looking to secure an arm triangle but Davis defends it well.

Davis tries to lock up and control but McNasty gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Davis gets back to half guard.
Davis is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
McNasty wants to pass the guard but Davis is defending well.
Davis tries to roll over but McNasty keeps him under control.
Davis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davis tries to get out of the position.

McNasty is looking for a kimura but Davis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McNasty to get the leverage.
Davis won't allow McNasty to pass to mount.

McNasty is working for a submission of some sort.
McNasty looks gassed!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McNasty is pressing down on Davis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Davis is holding on for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Davis slaps away a takedown attempt from McNasty, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Davis leaves McNasty with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mr Phil Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Filthy McNasty.
McNasty shoots for a double leg takedown but Davis sprawls well. He's pushed McNasty's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

McNasty shoots in but no luck this time.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Davis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McNasty takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Davis prevents McNasty from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McNasty is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Davis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McNasty is looking to escape.
Davis lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

McNasty is trying desperately to improve position.

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and McNasty has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between McNasty's legs - danger averted.

McNasty isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Davis stacks McNasty on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Davis!

Davis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McNasty does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McNasty is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davis connects with a nice short shot to McNasty's temple.

McNasty tries to score with some ground and pound. Davis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Well Davis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
