Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Sweeney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Defoe Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Anderson Sweeney has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Sweeney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Defoe Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sweeney ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Gracie throws a wild body kick that Sweeney sees coming a mile off.
Gracie looks to land a combination but Sweeney avoids it well.
Gracie fails to land with a series of punches.
Sweeney uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gracie.
Sweeney avoids a kick to the body.
Sweeney takes one on the button.
Sweeney walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gracie checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Sweeney gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sweeney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gracie trying to control but Sweeney is working from the bottom.
Gracie prevents Sweeney from getting back to his feet.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sweeney preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sweeney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie postures up in Sweeney's guard and throws a big left but Sweeney blocks it.
Sweeney keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass.
Gracie trying to control but Sweeney is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie is standing up over Sweeney. Sweeney looks to escape but Gracie dives into side control.
Sweeney is trying to buck Gracie off.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gracie controls from within his opponent's guard.
Gracie is pushing down on Sweeney's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sweeney is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sweeney wants to get back to his feet.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

Sweeney kicks Gracie off and gets back to his feet.
Sweeney slips a jab from Gracie.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sweeney is trying to stand.
Gracie passes to full mount!
Sweeney is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Sweeney defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie.
Sweeney is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sweeney trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Gracie trying to control but Sweeney is having none of it.

Gracie has hold of Sweeney's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sweeney manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Gracie looking to control but Sweeney is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sweeney really wants to buck Gracie off and get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Sweeney is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sweeney to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sweeney shrugs it off.
Gracie looks gassed!
Gracie looking to control but Sweeney is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sweeney really wants to buck Gracie off and get back to his feet.
Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Gracie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sweeney to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sweeney shrugs it off.

Gracie is working for a guillotine from mount but Sweeney frees his head quite easily.
Sweeney is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Gracie trying to control but Sweeney is having none of it.
Sweeney is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sweeney manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sweeney is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Defoe Gracie dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gracie avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sweeney throws a head kick that misses.
Gracie misses with a straight left.
Gracie misses the jab.
Sweeney stuffs the takedown.
Gracie misses with a hook. Sweeney ducked under it nicely.
Gracie swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sweeney ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Gracie moves out of range of the leg kick from Sweeney.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sweeney tries to land a leg kick but Gracie saw it coming and moves away.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sweeney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Gracie has hold of Sweeney's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sweeney seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sweeney is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sweeney is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Defoe Gracie!
