Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homer Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Adams swivels and escapes.

Simpson escapes and gets back to his feet.
Simpson tries to close the distance and clinch but Adams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Simpson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Adams as he jumps to the side.

Adams goes for a takedown attempt but Simpson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Simpson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Adams sprawls well initially but Simpson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Adams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Simpson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Simpson wants to get up but he can't break Adams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simpson can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Adams wants to stand up but Simpson has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Simpson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Adams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simpson somewhat.

Simpson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like John Adams has been cut.

Simpson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Adams regains guard immediately.

Adams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Simpson defends it easily.

Adams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Simpson's guard.

Well Simpson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
