Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denver Bull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Juan Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bull drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bull lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sanchez down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez is trying to control Bull's posture but Bull avoids it.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.
Sanchez can't do much from the bottom here.

Bull tries for a kimura but Sanchez is defending well.
Bull wants to control but Sanchez is keeping him busy.
Sanchez is looking to regain half guard here but Bull keeps moving and retains side control.

Bull takes a little break here. Sanchez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Bull is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sanchez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.
Bull is looking to take a break and control but Sanchez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bull tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bull has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bull decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bull shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanchez defends it nicely.

Sanchez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bull did well to prevent Sanchez getting side control.

Bull is trying to stick to Sanchez's back but Sanchez is turning into Bull. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bull's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sanchez.

Nice sprawl there from Sanchez as Bull shoots in.
Sanchez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bull's waist but Bull gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bull sprawls well. Bull wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet.

Bull throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sanchez was covering up waiting for the punch and Bull finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bull won't allow Sanchez to sweep him here.
Bull postures up and lands a big shot to Sanchez's brow.

Bull decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sanchez to his feet.

Sanchez looks for the body kick but Bull saw that one coming.
Sanchez throws a series of punches but Bull moves out of range.
Bull shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sanchez as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Denver Bull. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bull takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bull lands a big shot there that rocks Sanchez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Bull is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sanchez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sanchez!

Bull scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bull as he jumps to the side.

Bull moves into the clinch.

Bull pulls guard.
Bull has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Denver Bull overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denver Bull dominated that second round.
That's time! Bull's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Sanchez throws a series of punches but Bull avoids them all with ease.
Sanchez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Bull counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sanchez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bull passes Sanchez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep. Bull is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bull seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sanchez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bull connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple.

Bull shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bull changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sanchez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bull is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sanchez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bull, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
