PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Mantle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mclean comes into the arena with Oasis - F**king in the bushes blaring out of the sound system. Lenny Mclean has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lenny Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Mantle!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mclean swats away the attempt to clinch by Mantle.
Mantle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mantle has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Craig Mantle has been cut.
Mantle tries to close the distance and clinch but Mclean swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mclean bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Mantle! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mantle avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mclean chips away with some ground and pound.
Mclean throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mantle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mantle is trying to control the position but Mclean postures up.
Mclean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mantle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mantle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mclean controls the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mclean throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mantle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mclean looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Mantle can't keep his opponent in guard - Mclean advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mclean prevents Mantle from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mclean in particular looking to stall.
Mantle looks gassed!
Mclean throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mantle blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mclean.
Mclean scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Mclean is nestled in close to Mantle, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mclean thows a huge punch but Mantle dodges it nicely.
Mclean thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mantle's head.
Mantle should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mclean winds up and cracks Mantle with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mclean is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Mclean misses with a head shot. Mantle uses the momentum to regain guard.
Mantle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mclean controls the pace.
Mclean looking to pass the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mclean controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lenny Mclean just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Mclean catches Mantle napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Mantle to the canvas!


That has opened up Craig Mantle's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mclean controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mclean drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mclean jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mclean postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lenny Mclean dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Craig Mantle's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mantle on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.


The cut above Craig Mantle's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Mclean circles away from the clinch attempt.

Mantle ducks straight into an uppercut from Mclean and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Mantle manages to regain guard straight away.


Mantle is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Craig Mantle's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Lenny Mclean!
