Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, terry cheese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Nieder!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nieder misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
cheese lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Sam Nieder has been cut.
cheese avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
cheese gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nieder jumps guard but cheese stands there with Nieder around his waist. Nieder gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
cheese connects with a nasty looking knee right to Nieder's face.
cheese stops a takedown attempt from Nieder.
terry cheese has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Nieder.
cheese pulls guard.
cheese looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nieder has gone for a leg lock! cheese slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nieder's guard.
cheese slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
cheese in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's one minute gone in the round.
cheese decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Nieder shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nieder showed some decent athleticism there.
cheese wants to improve his position but Nieder is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
cheese gets full guard.
cheese is trying to control the position but Nieder postures up.
Nieder wants to pass the guard but cheese is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nieder wants to control from the top but cheese keeps moving.
Nieder is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
cheese controls Nieder momentarily but Nieder frees himself.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nieder throws a series of punches but cheese moves out of range.
cheese takes a swing at Nieder's ribcage but misses.
Nieder throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
cheese gets the takedown into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nieder can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nieder looks gassed!
cheese scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nieder to see if he's OK.
Sloppy strikes there by cheese.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
cheese stands up and we're back to a striking position.
cheese scoring well with a low kick there.
cheese scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
cheese is working to tighten is grip on Nieder's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nieder has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but cheese is really squeezing tight and eventually Nieder passes out! cheese breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
