The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but MacDougal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ward throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ward fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with MacDougal, pushing him back against the cage.
MacDougal is working for takedown but Ward is calmly controlling the position for now.

MacDougal turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and MacDougal manages to end up in side control.

I looks like MacDougal might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

MacDougal lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
