Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dae Hyun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendes has chosen My Way by Limp Bizkit as his entrance music. Dae Hyun has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyun throws a leg kick that misses.
Hyun misses with a low kick.
Mendes stuffs the takedown attempt from Hyun. Hyun gets slowly back to his feet.
Hyun misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mendes misses with a straight right.
Nice straight punches there by Mendes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mendes.


It looks like Dae Hyun has been cut.

Mendes rushes Hyun and presses him up against the ropes.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Mendes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hyun.
Mendes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Mendes lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Mendes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mendes throws a series of punches but Hyun moves out of range.
Hyun lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Hyun counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mendes just misses with a punch to the body.

and Mendes counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hyun has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mendes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mendes manages to break the clinch.
Mendes avoids the head kick by Hyun.
Mendes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hyun.
Mendes throws a nice looking combination but Hyun bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hyun misses with a body shot.

Mendes has clasped his hands together around Hyun's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Hyun gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hyun wants to get back to full guard but Mendes has passed into side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mendes cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mendes has control of Hyun's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hyun regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Hyun working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mendes tries for a kimura but Hyun is defending well.

Mendes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hyun knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Hyun's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mendes has hold of Hyun's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hyun manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hyun is looking to improve his position but Mendes isn't that keen on the idea.

Mendes sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Daniel Mendes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mendes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Mendes is working for a submission of some sort.

Well Mendes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
