PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between dan the tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kublai Konn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). the tank kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is ready to fight. Konn has chosen The Bloodhound Gang - Dirty Touch as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, dan the tank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kublai Konn!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from the tank.
the tank shoots for a takedown but Konn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
the tank shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for dan the tank. That's going to take a lot out of him.
the tank is trying hard to land a takedown here. Konn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Konn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Konn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. the tank looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

the tank has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Konn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Konn uses his free foot to push down on the tank's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for the tank.

the tank takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Konn is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Konn lands with a hook. the tank tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Konn connects with a good right hand that stumbles the tank. the tank circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Horrible takedown by Konn or perhaps it was just good defense by the tank which made him look bad.

Well Konn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
