PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sho Fukamachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milo Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fukamachi comes into the arena with Genki Sudo world order mindshift blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Sho Fukamachi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Milo Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fukamachi checks a low kick from Jackson.

Fukamachi feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Fukamachi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fukamachi wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Fukamachi won't allow Jackson to sweep him here.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fukamachi's guard.

Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fukamachi's guard.

Fukamachi is in all sorts of trouble here.

Jackson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fukamachi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Jackson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fukamachi sees it coming and defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fukamachi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round but I would say that Sho Fukamachi will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fukamachi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fukamachi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Fukamachi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Milo Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Fukamachi has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.
Fukamachi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jackson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Fukamachi shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Fukamachi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fukamachi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jackson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Fukamachi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Fukamachi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jackson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Fukamachi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jackson.
Fukamachi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fukamachi drops his hands momentarily and Jackson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Fukamachi fails with a takedown attempt.
Jackson slaps away a takedown attempt from Fukamachi, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jackson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jackson stuffs the takedown.
