Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Kempe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Rossan!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Kempe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rossan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Rossan tries to clinch up but Kempe circles away and keeps his distance.
Rossan leaves Kempe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kempe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rossan throws a leg kick that misses.
Kempe shoots in but no luck this time.
Kempe shoots in but Rossan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Kempe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kempe shoots in for a takedown but Rossan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kempe tries for a takedown but Rossan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kempe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rossan pinned against the cage. Rossan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rossan blocks a low kick nicely.
Kempe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rossan digs a good hook to Kempe's body.

Tony Kempe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rossan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Rossan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kempe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Rossan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Rossan takes the fight into the clinch.
Rossan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kempe pushes off an throws an elbow but Rossan leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Kempe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rossan connects with a body shot.
Kempe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rossan's waist but Rossan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kempe off to one side.
Rossan digs a good body shot into Kempe's ribs.

Rossan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Rossan lands a body shot.
Rossan misses with a wild body shot.
Rossan stuns Kempe with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Decent striking displayed by Rossan there.
Kempe fails to land the takedown.
Kempe looks to clinch
and Rossan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rossan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Rossan clinches up with Kempe and pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kempe misses with a combination
and Rossan counters with a left to the body.
Kempe tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rossan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kempe closes the distance but Rossan moves to the side
enabling Rossan to counter with a crisp jab.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kempe tries to clinch but Rossan moves away
and Rossan counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rossan circles away from the clinch attempt
and Rossan counters with a left and a right that stings Kempe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Rossan counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kempe clinches but Rossan breaks the clinch
and Rossan counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Kempe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kempe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kempe rushes Rossan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Kempe fails to land.

Kempe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rossan tries to close the distance and clinch but Kempe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kempe shoots in but Rossan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kempe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rossan is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kempe rather than just go for the knockout.

Kempe tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Rossan counter with a right hand.
Kempe clinches but Rossan breaks the clinch
and Rossan counters with a stiff right hand.
Rossan slaps away a takedown attempt from Kempe, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rossan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kempe decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rossan to his feet.
Kempe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kempe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rossan.
Rossan looks to score with a jab to the body but Kempe is just out of range.

Rossan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kempe.

Rossan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kempe with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Rossan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kempe.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kempe closes the distance and clinches up with Rossan, looking for a takedown. Kempe pushes Rossan against the cage but Rossan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kempe throws a push kick but Rossan slaps the foot to one side.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Kempe will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Rossan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kempe tries to clinch
and Rossan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Rossan rushes Kempe and presses him up against the cage.
Kempe is leaning against Rossan and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Kempe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Rossan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

It looks like Paul Rossan has been cut.
Rossan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kempe misses with a head kick.
Kempe misses with the combination.

Kempe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rossan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rossan keeps the fight on the outside.

Kempe shoots for a double leg takedown but Rossan sprawls well. He's pushed Kempe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Rossan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rossan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

enabling Rossan to counter with a crisp jab.
Kempe takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Rossan counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Kempe dives in and grabs Rossan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rossan pushes down on Kempe's head and hops out.
Rossan tests Kempe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kempe is looking to land body kicks.
Rossan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

and Rossan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kempe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kempe jumps guard but Rossan stands there with Kempe around his waist. Kempe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kempe lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Kempe tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Rossan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

enabling Rossan to counter with a crisp jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tony Kempe showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kempe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
