PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The King of Lusitania (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis comes to the cage accompanied by Cry For the Moon - Epica. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jamal Reis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The King of Lusitania!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis slaps away a takedown attempt from Lusitania, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Reis, right into the meat.
Lusitania gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Reis cracks Lusitania with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Lusitania shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reis but Reis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lusitania tries to clinch there but Reis circles away.
Reis keeps the fight on the outside.
Reis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lusitania fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jamal Reis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The King of Lusitania.

Reis forces Lusitania back against the cage and clinches.
A shot in the inside from Reis.
Reis prevents Lusitania from breaking the clinch.
Lusitania tries to land knees in the clinch but Reis avoids the damage to the body.
Lusitania keeps control of Reis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Reis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lusitania on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Reis digs a good hook to Lusitania's body.
Reis lands with a nice body punch.
Lusitania takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Reis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lusitania.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reis scores with a sloppy right hand. Lusitania should have avoided that one.
Lusitania looks gassed!
Nice sprawl there from Reis as Lusitania shoots in.
Reis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Reis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Reis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lusitania on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Reis gets a clinch.
Reis lands a hook to the side of the head.
Reis lands a hook that snaps the head of Lusitania backwards.


Lusitania is rocked!
Lusitania tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reis just stands there and leans against the cage.
Lusitania tries to break free but Reis pushes him back against the cage.
Reis lands with a left to the head.
Lusitania is still on wobbly legs! Can Reis finish him?
Reis working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Reis is struggling to control the position.
Reis lands a hook to the side of the head.
Reis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Lusitania seems to have recovered his senses.
Reis lands a hook that snaps the head of Lusitania backwards.

Reis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Reis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lusitania.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reis clinches.

Lusitania escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lusitania takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lusitania clinches but Reis breaks the clinch
and Reis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Reis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Reis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lusitania momentarily.
Reis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Reis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Reis lands a jab to the nose.
Lusitania is trying desperately to land a takedown but Reis is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lusitania.
Reis scores with a hook to the body. Lusitania takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lusitania drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Reis drops Lusitania with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Lusitania! Reis dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (strikes). Jamal Reis!
