PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Chung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black tries to score with a low kick but Chung moves his leg out of the way.

Chung had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Black is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chung Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Black's back instead.

Chung has the hooks in. Black is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Chung is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Black is defending well though. Chung let's go of the attempt for now.

Black dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chung. That did some damage!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Chung not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Black throws a strike but Chung rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Black is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chung is controlling him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black can't keep his opponent in guard - Chung advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Chung wants to stand but Black has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Chung is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Black defends it well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Black swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chung counters with a head kick. That will keep Black thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Chung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Black pinned against the cage. Black gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vinny Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Chung.

Chung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chung off to one side.
Vinny Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Chung shoots for a double leg takedown but Black sprawls well. He's pushed Chung's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
