The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ziomek wants to clinch.
No luck for Ziomek with that takedown attempt.
McAllister scores with a nice body kick.

McAllister decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Ziomek is defending against the submission attempts here by McAllister.
Ziomek is trying to stand back up but McAllister is controlling him

Ziomek shoots and misses

and McAllister counters by moving into the clinch.

McAllister manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McAllister pulls Ziomek in close to his closed guard and prevents Ziomek from doing any damage or advancing position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McAllister holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ziomek wants to control from the top but McAllister keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ziomek misses with a double jab
and McAllister counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ziomek is lucky that one didn't land flush.

McAllister scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ziomek has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McAllister is working away from the top position though.

McAllister has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
McAllister won't let Ziomek get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Ziomek tries to lock up and control but McAllister gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
McAllister throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Ziomek is in all sorts of trouble here.

McAllister moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ziomek has worked his arm free - good work by Ziomek!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McAllister takes a little break here. Ziomek wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Ziomek tries to control but McAllister manages to take his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McAllister thows a strike but Ziomek uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Ziomek as he ends up in McAllister 's guard!
Ziomek wants to stand but McAllister has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



McAllister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ziomek to the mat! Ziomek manages to get full guard.

so McAllister counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

McAllister has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ziomek has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but McAllister has passed into side control.

McAllister really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Ziomek.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McAllister is riding his opponent, not letting Ziomek buck him off.
Ziomek trying to control the position but McAllister manages to sink in the hooks.
I really don't envy Ziomek right now.

Ziomek is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McAllister gets his way!

McAllister gets the takedown into side control.
Ziomek is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ziomek is trying to get back to his feet.

McAllister has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

McAllister working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ziomek doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ziomek manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ziomek looking to sit in guard and control but McAllister gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McAllister working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ziomek wants to sweep but no luck.
Chip McAllister overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McAllister accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ziomek is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McAllister drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ziomek manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McAllister has Ziomek in his guard.
Ziomek sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McAllister's guard.
Ziomek is thwarting McAllister's attempts to control the position.
Ziomek tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

McAllister trying to control from the bottom.
McAllister is trying to stand.
Ziomek wants to control but McAllister is keeping him busy.
McAllister moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McAllister thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ziomek trying to control the position from guard on top but McAllister is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ziomek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McAllister scores with a hook to the body. Ziomek takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

McAllister changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ziomek looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

McAllister tries to control but Ziomek wriggling away.

Chip McAllister showed his dominance in that final round.
Well McAllister has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
