Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Paine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sterling Paine is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Bone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sterling Paine!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paine keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Paine shoots in and bounces Bone off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Paine not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bone wants to sweep here but Paine controlling him for the moment.
Paine wants to stand but Bone is controlling his posture from full guard.
Paine's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Bone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bone being controlled here, momentarily.
Paine working some strikes from top position.

Bone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paine can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bone is breathing heavily.
Paine is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Paine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Paine's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Bone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Paine postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Paine content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paine wants to control from the top but Bone keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Despite being in the dominant position, Sterling Paine just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Paine shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bone napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Paine bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Let's hope that Paine has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bone wants to control but Paine postures up.
Paine works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Bone striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Bone tries to escape but Paine is in control.
Paine has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bone shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Paine counters with a single leg into guard. Bone didn't expect that.

Bone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Paine works over Bone with some ground and pound from guard.
Paine controlling from the top position.

Bone looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Paine showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Paine stands and throws Bone's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Paine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bone keeps working.

Bone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Paine sprawls well initially but Bone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Paine moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Bone preventing the sweep.
Bone looking to sit in guard and control but Paine gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bone has his foot on Paine's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paine works his way back into a safe position though.

Paine tries to free his leg and advance position but Bone is retaining full guard.

Bone throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Paine cracks Bone with a solid left hand.
Paine is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Paine scoring with some ground and pound.
Paine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Paine feints and as Bone raises his hands in defense, Paine changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Paine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Paine stops Bone from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sterling Paine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Paine has the hooks in. Bone is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
I would not like to be Bone right now.

Sterling Paine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Paine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
