Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Yang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hao Rucon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel Yang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hao Rucon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Yang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hao Rucon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yang feints and as Rucon raises his hands in defense, Yang changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Yang with a flurry of punches that miss.
Yang controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Rucon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Yang wants to control from the top but Rucon keeps moving.
Rucon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yang is trying to reverse the position but instead Rucon has taken his back - oops!
Rucon is not going to allow Yang to sit and survive in this position.
Yang holding both Rucon 's hands and preventing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yang tries to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rucon doesn't have the hooks in and Yang manages to turn into his guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yang's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Yang is looking to stand up but Rucon won't let him.
Yang trying to control but Rucon is working from the bottom.
Rucon working a defensive guard here.
Yang is looking to work some ground and pound but Rucon has wrist control.

Rucon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Yang throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Yang stands up and waves to Rucon to follow him.

Rucon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Yang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rucon on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rucon decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Rucon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Yang is breathing heavily.
Yang preventing the sweep.
Yang in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rucon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yang is one step ahead there.
Rucon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Yang is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rucon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yang!

Rucon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Yang manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yang is not content to let Rucon control the position.
Yang tries to buck Rucon off but Rucon is having none of it.
Yang tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Yang looking very determined here, making life difficult for Rucon.
Rucon is not going to allow Yang to sit and survive in this position.

Rucon looking for the choke from the back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rucon looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Rucon tries to get the hooks in deep but Yang pushed the leg off.
Rucon doesn't have the hooks in and Yang manages to turn into his guard.
Rucon looking to control.
Rucon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yang!
Rucon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rucon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Yang wants to hold on but Rucon pushes him away.
Yang is squirming around, avoiding Rucon's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hao Rucon dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Yang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rucon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Yang remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Yang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rucon keeps working.
Yang grinds an elbow into Rucon's temple.


Rucon is rocked!
Yang controls the position.
Rucon is still in real trouble! Can Yang finish him?
Yang working the ground and pound from side control.

Yang is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rucon is trying to escape and Yang transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rucon is forced to tap! Nice work there by Yang! Very nice indeed!
