Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Janik Sarkisyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sarkisyan comes to the cage accompanied by "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy. Ralph Gracie has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Janik Sarkisyan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Janik Sarkisyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ralph Gracie!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarkisyan lands a body shot.
Sarkisyan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sarkisyan showed some decent athleticism there.
Sarkisyan trying to mount his opponent but Gracie defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sarkisyan connects with a nice short shot to Gracie's temple.
Gracie works his way to full guard. Good work.
Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sarkisyan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sarkisyan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gracie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gracie pushes down on Sarkisyan's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Sarkisyan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Sarkisyan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sarkisyan trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sarkisyan keeps working.

Gracie wants to pass to mount but Sarkisyan is defending the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sarkisyan is defended easily by Gracie.
Gracie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sarkisyan.
Gracie shoots in and bounces Sarkisyan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie thows a big elbow that misses.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ralph Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sarkisyan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sarkisyan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gracie as he jumps to the side.
Sarkisyan throws a head kick that misses.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Sarkisyan.
Gracie throws a body punch but Sarkisyan moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Gracie misses its intended target.
Sarkisyan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Sarkisyan persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janik Sarkisyan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gracie is standing up over Sarkisyan. Sarkisyan looks to escape but Gracie dives into side control.
Gracie is working to tighten is grip on Sarkisyan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sarkisyan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Sarkisyan passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
