PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quickius Rapidus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rapidus fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Joe, pushing him back against the cage.
Joe wants a takedown.
Rapidus wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Joe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rapidus connects with a single shot there.
Quickius Rapidus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joe tries to keep at a distance but Rapidus has taken the fight into the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Joe goes for a takedown attempt but Rapidus pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Joe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rapidus's waist but Rapidus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Joe off to one side.
Quickius Rapidus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mr Average Joe.
Rapidus doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Joe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Joe.

Joe breaks from the clinch.
Joe throws a body punch but Rapidus moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Joe or perhaps it was just good defense by Rapidus which made him look bad.

Rapidus clinches up against the cage.
Joe tries to pull guard but Rapidus holds him up against the cage and eventually Joe drops back down to his feet.

Rapidus lands a hook that snaps the head of Joe backwards.
Joe has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rapidus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Joe fails to pull guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Joe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rapidus smiles and moves away.
Rapidus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rapidus fails with a takedown attempt.
Rapidus looks to land a combination but Joe avoids it well.

Rapidus moves into range and clinches up with Joe.
Joe drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rapidus pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rapidus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rapidus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rapidus has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Joe finds it's way round the side to connect with Rapidus's head.

Rapidus clinches.
Rapidus is pressed up against the cage. Joe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rapidus down to the mat. Rapidus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Joe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rapidus lands with a nice combination. Joe backs away looking to recover.
Joe has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Rapidus closes the distance and clinches.
Rapidus is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rapidus wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Joe has him pressed against the cage.

Rapidus breaks from the clinch.
Joe is looking to clinch.
Rapidus lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Joe backs up against the cage.

Joe is rocked!
Rapidus scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Joe is still on wobbly legs! Can Rapidus finish him?

Rapidus throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Joe colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Rapidus as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Joe is left battered and dazed whilst Rapidus and his camp cheer!
