The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn ducks under a wild hook from Carlton.
Carlton pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Carlton throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Penn scores with a sloppy right hand. Carlton should have avoided that one.

Ronnie Carlton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carlton throws a hook to the side of Penn's head but Penn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Carlton connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Penn momentarily.
Penn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Carlton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Penn sprawls well. Penn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carlton gets slowly back to his feet.

Forrest Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Carlton.

Penn cracks Carlton with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Penn has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Carlton to stand back up!

Carlton is trying desperately to land a takedown but Penn is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Carlton.

Penn drops Carlton with a beautiful combination! Carlton stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Penn is looking for the KO!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Penn connects with a nice cross there... Carlton is looking wobbly and Penn recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Carlton to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Penn jumps onto the ropes to celebrate with the crowd!
