The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricketts shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Irvine as he jumps to the side.
Irvine tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Irvine thows a body shot but no joy.
Some wild striking there from Irvine.

Ricketts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Irvine managing to block the knees to the body from Ricketts.
Ricketts has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Irvine avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ricketts has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Irvine is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Austin Ricketts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Irvine lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Irvine lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ricketts backwards.
Ricketts tries to break free but Irvine pushes him back against the cage.

Irvine breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Irvine throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Irvine throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ricketts.
Irvine misses with a few strikes there.
Irvine looks to land a left hand but Ricketts moved out of range nicely.
Irvine lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ricketts backs up against the cage.

It looks like Austin Ricketts has been cut.
Ricketts lands with a straight right. Irvine didn't see that one coming.
Irvine tries to bum rush Ricketts with a series of wild strikes but Ricketts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ricketts fails with the takedown.
Ricketts slips a jab and a cross from Irvine.
Irvine lands with a right that hurts Ricketts. Ricketts looks to clinch but Irvine throws a short knee that drops Ricketts. This one is all over!
