Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nicko Rodriges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perus Venkula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Venkula has chosen Wrong Hole as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriges shoots in for a takedown but Venkula shows good takedown defense.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rodriges shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Venkula but Venkula pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rodriges is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Venkula defends well.

Venkula got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodriges has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Venkula has managed to get both his arms back between Rodriges's legs - danger averted.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Venkula is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rodriges doesn't succeed with the takedown

Rodriges parries the strikes from Venkula easily there. Venkula is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rodriges to escape.
Venkula misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
