PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Yahya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Narcis Hitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yahya's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bones. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitman tries to clinch up.
Hitman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Yahya swats away the attempt to clinch by Hitman.

Yahya fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hitman sprawls well initially but Yahya persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Yahya is taking a breather. Hitman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Yahya prevents Hitman from improving his position.

Hitman looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Yahya seems to be looking for submissions.
Yahya is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hitman bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Yahya will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hitman looking to sit in guard and control but Yahya gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Yahya stands and throws Hitman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hitman is not content to let Yahya control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hitman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Yahya gets to mount! Hitman was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Hitman is looking to get to half guard.

Yahya working for a guillotine from mount but Hitman is in no mood to give up.
Yahya takes Hitman's back.

Yahya is trying to stick to Hitman's back but Hitman is turning into Yahya. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Yahya's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hitman.

Yahya wriggles free and stands up.
Yahya keeps the fight on the outside.
Hitman tries a head kick but it misses.
Yahya shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hitman sprawls well. Hitman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yahya gets slowly back to his feet.
Hitman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hitman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hitman throws a series of punches but Yahya moves out of range.
Yahya swats away the attempt to clinch by Hitman.

and Hitman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hitman.
Hitman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Yahya prevents it.
Yahya drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hitman has Yahya pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Yahya manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mohammed Yahya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Narcis Hitman.
Yahya is trying to break the clinch but Hitman is controlling him.

Yahya turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Yahya manages to end up in side control.
Yahya works to advance to full mount. Hitman defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Yahya quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Yahya but it's paid off an Hitman is forced to tap! Nice work by Yahya.
