PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silvano Assunicao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jon Jones was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Assunicao is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jones wants to stand and escape but Assunicao is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Assunicao connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Assunicao drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Assunicao has Jones in his guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Assunicao, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
