Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hondo Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deiter Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane tries to clinch up.
Lane is looking to clinch but Myers is avoiding it.

Myers gets the takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Myers stalls from top position.
Myers wants to control but Lane is keeping him busy.
Lane tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Myers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Lane is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Myers pulls his head out easily.

Lane isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Myers stacks Lane on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Myers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Myers decides to stand back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lane looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Myers throws a wild body kick that Lane sees coming a mile off.
Myers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lane takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Lane closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Myers manages to break the clinch.

Lane moves in looking to clinch but Myers pushes him off.

Lane is looking to improve his position but Myers isn't that keen on the idea.

Myers is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Lane has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Lane!
Myers looks gassed!

Myers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lane is pressing down on Myers's thigh, looking to free his foot. Myers is holding on for now.

Lane is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lane is working for a kimura but Myers is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lane clinches up against the cage.
Lane lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Myers jumps guard but Lane stands there with Myers around his waist. Myers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lane is looking to control Myers's arms but Myers gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lane has his back to the cage.
Lane throws an elbow but it misses.

Myers breaks from the clinch.
Myers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lane tries to clinch up.
Myers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lane pinned against the cage. Lane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hondo Lane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deiter Myers.

Lane gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Myers blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Myers blocks an elbow strike.
Lane will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Myers up against the cage.
Lane misses with a hook from the clinch.

A close round but Deiter Myers will probably get the nod.

Lane gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Myers passes Lane's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Myers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lane has hold of Myers's hands but Myers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Myers wants to control but Lane is keeping him busy.

Lane closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lane throws a punch but it's blocked by Myers.
Myers takes an elbow to the temple.
Lane is pressed up against the cage. Myers has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lane down to the mat. Lane avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lane wants to clinch

and Myers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Myers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Myers decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Myers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lane's calf.
Lane closes the distance but Myers moves to the side

and Myers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Myers.

Myers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lane pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hondo Lane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Myers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lane's guard.

Lane looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Myers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Myers controlling the positon.

Myers working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Deiter Myers has got the better of the ground game so far.
Myers might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lane kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Myers is persistently looking for the submission but Lane is defending it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Lane counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lane looking to sit in guard and control but Myers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lane lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Myers wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Myers has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lane clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Myers tries to get the hooks in deep but Lane pushed the leg off.
Myers slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
