The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vlad fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Vlad is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Drago up.

Vlad is trying to stick to Drago's back but Drago is turning into Vlad. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Vlad's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Drago.

Drago is desperately trying to improve his position but Vlad has a good base and remains in mount.

Drago drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vlad looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vlad looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vlad!

Drago throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Vlad is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Drago has escaped the position, nice work there.

Drago is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vlad gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Drago to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Vlad has his foot on Drago's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drago works his way back into a safe position though.
Drago makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Vlad manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gibki Vlad overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Drago is bucking up trying to escape but Vlad cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Vlad working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Drago turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Vlad off and cradles Drago's limp body as Vlad celebrates with his corner.
