Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Logan Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubbi Morthens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Logan Cullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bubbi Morthens!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cullen drives through and clinches with Morthens against the cage.
Cullen scores with a knee to the head.
Cullen misses with a body punch.
Morthens dodges an elbow strike from Cullen.

Cullen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cullen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bubbi Morthens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cullen leaves Morthens with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Morthens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Morthens trying to control the action but Cullen is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Morthens shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Morthens showed some decent athleticism there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Morthens goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cullen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Morthens but great work by Cullen.

Cullen stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Cullen wants to take a breather but Morthens is having none of it.

Cullen pushes Morthens away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morthens gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Morthens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cullen keeps working.

Cullen is trying to buck Morthens off.
You can see the frustration on Cullen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cullen tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Morthens is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Morthens is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morthens trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Cullen manages to pass to mount!
Morthens tries to hold on but Cullen pushes him away.
Cullen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Cullen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Morthens wants to control but Cullen is having none of it.
Cullen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Morthens is looking to escape.

Morthens sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Morthens is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cullen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cullen's back!

Cullen covering up well and avoiding damage.
What can Cullen do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Cullen just trying to survive but Morthens is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Morthens somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
