PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dog Hercules (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fisher comes to the cage accompanied by Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dog Hercules!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hercules lands a head kick. Fisher smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Hercules fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fisher shoots in but no luck this time.
Dog Hercules seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hercules tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hercules tries to clinch but Fisher moves out of range.
Hercules tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fisher paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fisher takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Hercules takes the fight into the clinch.
Fisher goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hercules prevents it.
Fisher is trying to drag Hercules to the mat but Hercules just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Fisher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hercules is trying to maintain a safe position but Fisher gets an underhook and turns Hercules into the cage.

Fisher gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hercules keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Fisher is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hercules regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Fisher.
Hercules controlling the position.
Fisher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hercules wants to sweep but no luck.
Fisher in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fisher scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Hercules is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fisher is controlling him.
Fisher throws a strike but Hercules rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hercules would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fisher throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Fisher is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Fisher is working hard here to advance position.

Hercules got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fisher has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hercules has managed to get both his arms back between Fisher's legs - danger averted.

Hercules stands up and waves to Fisher to follow him.
Hercules rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fisher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fisher shoots in but no luck this time.
Hercules throws a sloppy head kick and Fisher moves out of range easily.
Hercules tries to clinch up but Fisher circles away and keeps his distance.
Fisher fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hercules avoids it really well and circles away.
Hercules tries to clinch but Fisher is having none of it.
Dog Hercules is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hercules lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hercules tries to land a front kick but Fisher steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Fisher shoots in for a takedown but Hercules shows good takedown defense.
Fisher swats away the attempt to clinch by Hercules.
No luck for Fisher with that takedown attempt.
Hercules throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dog Hercules dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hercules tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hercules displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fisher.
Hercules wants to clinch up but Fisher keeps it at a distance.
Fisher is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fisher shoots in looking for a takedown. Hercules tries to sprawl out of it but Fisher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hercules manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hercules looks to clinch

and Fisher counters with a takedown into side control.
Fisher throwing strikes but Hercules manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Hercules wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working.

Fisher tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hercules trying to control the action but Fisher is working from the bottom.
Fisher manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hercules's best efforts.
Hercules wants to free his trapped foot but Fisher is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fisher is concentrating on defense, preventing Hercules from advancing position.
Fisher wants to get back to full guard but Hercules has mounted him!
Fisher is looking to improve his position but Hercules isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hercules controlling from mount.
Fisher is trying desperately to improve position.
Fisher sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Fisher is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fisher has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hercules is working away from the top position though.
Hercules is trying to control. Fisher wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fisher is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fisher is staying active underneath Hercules, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hercules lands the left hand.

Fisher closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fisher looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hercules with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hercules trying to hold on to Fisher's head to control him but Fisher postures up.
Hercules tries to get to full guard but Fisher has control of the leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fisher thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hercules's head.
Fisher not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hercules looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fisher drops an elbow to the side of Hercules's head.
Fisher throwing shots but Hercules is blocking nicely.
Fisher not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hercules moves into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fisher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Fisher dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Fisher circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hercules wants to clinch but Fisher slips to the side

and Fisher counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hercules looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hercules working a defensive guard here.
Fisher in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fisher throwing strikes from guard but Hercules blocks nicely.
George Fisher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fisher prevents Hercules from getting back to his feet.
Hercules looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fisher is one step ahead there.
Fisher content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fisher throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fisher lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Fisher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hercules is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fisher is controlling him.
Fisher is looking to work some ground and pound but Hercules has wrist control.
Fisher is working Hercules over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hercules avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hercules utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fisher postures up in Hercules's guard and throws a big left but Hercules blocks it.
Fisher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hercules lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Fisher at a distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hercules throws a head kick but Fisher moves out of range.
Hercules thuds his right hand into Fisher's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Hercules gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fisher to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fisher working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Fisher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hercules lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fisher!

Fisher is trying desperately to improve position.
Hercules looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fisher is desperately trying to improve his position but Hercules has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fisher has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hercules takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fisher wants to control but Hercules is having none of it.
Fisher tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hercules controlling from mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
George Fisher showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fisher has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
