Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff John Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeff John Gailfus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Justin Silva!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has a takedown stuffed.
Gailfus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva throws a series of punches but Gailfus moves out of range.
Silva misses with a low kick.
Gailfus fails in his attempt to clinch.
Silva misses with a few strikes there.
Gailfus tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gailfus fails to land the takedown.

Gailfus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silva is trying to defend but Gailfus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gailfus drops an elbow to the side of Silva's head.

Gailfus is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gailfus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Gailfus has control of the leg.

Silva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Gailfus wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
Silva is looking to control Gailfus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gailfus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.

Gailfus escapes and gets back to his feet.
Gailfus is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Gailfus fails with the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gailfus.

Justin Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva tries to clinch there but Gailfus circles away.
Silva lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Gailfus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva misses with the combination.
Silva misses with a wild combination.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gailfus scores with a crisp jab that stopped Silva in his tracks.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Horrible takedown by Gailfus or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Gailfus's shoulder, as Gailfus tries to avoid the shot.
Gailfus tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva wants to land a leg kick but Gailfus is out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Silva.
Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Gailfus drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gailfus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Gailfus decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!
Gailfus tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gailfus counters with a right hand to the body.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gailfus.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff John Gailfus dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gailfus tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gailfus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Gailfus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva wants to stand but Gailfus has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gailfus desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gailfus.

Gailfus has one foot on Silva's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Gailfus tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily

and Silva moves into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff John Gailfus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva misses with a knee strike.

Gailfus pulls guard.
Silva wants to stand but Gailfus is controlling his posture from full guard.
Gailfus looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Silva wanted to stand there but Gailfus had control of the position.

Silva throws a strike but Gailfus rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Silva wants to control the position but Gailfus says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Silva strikes from the bottom but Gailfus passes into mount!

Gailfus looking to isolate an arm here. Silva doesn't see it coming and as Gailfus extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Gailfus!
