Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steroid Freak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steroid Freak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Steroid Freak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards swats away the attempt to clinch by Freak.
Nice takedown defense from Edwards. No joy for Freak on that attempt.

and Freak holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Edwards has Freak pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Freak manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Edwards wants the takedown. Freak is fighting it off but Edwards persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Freak's guard against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Freak rushes Edwards and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Edwards has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Freak is trying to keep an underhook but Edwards manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Edwards connects with a nice short shot to Freak's temple.

Edwards is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Freak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Edwards.

Freak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Freak takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Edwards lands a decent elbow from side control.
Edwards lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Edwards is chipping away with strikes.
Edwards lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Freak down.
Freak tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Edwards creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Edwards swings around for an armbar but Freak sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Edwards's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Edwards is working an open guard so Freak takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Edwards will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Edwards is looking to work some ground and pound but Freak has wrist control.
Freak wants to sweep but no luck.
Freak has momentary wrist control but Edwards slips an elbow through the middle.

Edwards is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Edwards throws a big right hand that misses.
Edwards cracks Freak with a solid left hand.
Freak wants to get back to his feet but Edwards is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Freak keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully.

Jack Edwards has got the better of the ground game so far.
Freak is trying to control the position from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Edwards shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Freak manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Edwards throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Freak works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Edwards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Freak is looking to clinch.
Freak tries to clinch up.
Edwards works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Freak moves in looking to clinch but Edwards pushes him off.

Edwards closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Freak to the mat! Freak manages to get full guard.
Edwards postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Edwards drops back looking for a leg! Freak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Freak manages to kick Edwards off! Edwards jumps back into Freak's guard.
Freak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Edwards's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Edwards is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Edwards not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Edwards is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Freak is controlling him.
Freak has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Edwards is proving hard to escape from.
Edwards is adopting a defensive guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Edwards wants to stand but Freak is controlling the position.

Freak stands and steps away. Edwards gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Edwards tries to score a power double leg takedown but Freak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Edwards somewhat.
Freak is looking to clinch.

Freak slaps away a takedown attempt from Edwards, before circling back to the center of the mat.
No joy there for Edwards, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Freak fails with an attempt to clinch.

Edwards decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Freak misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Edwards working over Freak with some ground and pound. Freak looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Freak is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Edwards jumps into side control!
Edwards scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Freak to see if he's OK.

Edwards is looking to take a break and control but Freak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

I've got Edwards winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
