Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hyun Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wiang Kwai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the cage accompanied by To the Top. Wiang Kwai has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hyun Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wiang Kwai!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kim shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kwai swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kwai swats away the attempt to clinch by Kim.
Kwai wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kwai looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kim swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Kwai tries to clinch but Kim is having none of it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kwai misses with a wild body shot.
Kwai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kim feints and as Kwai raises his hands in defense, Kim changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kim is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kwai is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kwai has escaped and now he's on top!

Kwai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kwai has managed to get both his arms back between Kim's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hyun Kim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kim shoots for a double leg takedown but Kwai sprawls well. He's pushed Kim's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wiang Kwai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Kim closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kwai did well to prevent Kim getting side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kim cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kwai is desperately trying to improve his position but Kim has a good base and remains in mount.
Kim unloads with some shots from mount but Kwai bucks and avoids them well.

Kwai defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kim.

Kim jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kwai manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kim tries to score with some ground and pound. Kwai controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kwai tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kim creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kwai sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kim throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Kim wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kwai, who protects the arm well.

Kim is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kwai has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kwai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Kim misses with a head shot. Kwai uses the momentum to regain guard.

Kim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kwai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kim, into his guard.

Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kwai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hyun Kim showed his dominance in that final round.
