The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Balboa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Balboa lands in his opponent's guard.
Reyes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reyes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Balboa sitting in guard here, content to control.
Balboa trying to control the position from guard on top but Reyes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Balboa is pushing down on Reyes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reyes is fighting to maintain full guard but Balboa has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reyes wants to control but Balboa is keeping busy.
