Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy DeSouza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DeSouza comes to the cage accompanied by Randy Manny & The Tools. Randy DeSouza has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy DeSouza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Evans!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeSouza lands with a thumping leg kick.
DeSouza looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
DeSouza stuffs the takedown attempt from Evans. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
DeSouza throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Evans scores with a crisp jab that stopped DeSouza in his tracks.
DeSouza tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.

DeSouza gets caught flat footed, as Evans shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
DeSouza throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
DeSouza controls Evans momentarily but Evans frees himself.

Evans got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeSouza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evans has managed to get both his arms back between DeSouza's legs - danger averted.
Evans slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from DeSouza.

Evans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
DeSouza tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Evans has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
DeSouza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
DeSouza is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Evans sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
DeSouza tries to hold on but Evans postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
DeSouza is in a horrible position here. Evans smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
DeSouza is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans looking to control and managing it successfully.
DeSouza is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Evans takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

BOOM! Evans connects with a massive shot to the dome!
DeSouza wants to control but Evans is having none of it.
Evans looking to control and managing it successfully.
DeSouza throwing hammer fists to the chest of Evans. What's that going to do exactly?
DeSouza flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

DeSouza can't escape the position.
Evans avoids the attempt from DeSouza to control.
Evans controlling the pace for now.
Evans tries to control but DeSouza wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Evans dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Evans throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
DeSouza uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
DeSouza stuffs the takedown attempt from Evans. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
A punch lands to the side of DeSouza 's head but he takes it in his stride.
DeSouza is looking to slow Evans down with leg kicks.
DeSouza blocks a jab.
Evans tries for a takedown but DeSouza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Evans looks to score with a jab to the body but DeSouza is just out of range.
Evans shoots in but DeSouza avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Randy DeSouza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Evans.

Evans tries to close the distance and clinch but DeSouza swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
DeSouza throws a nice outside leg kick.
A big right from Evans misses.
Evans takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
DeSouza circles away from the clinch attempt
and DeSouza counters with a nice body kick.
Evans tries to score a power double leg takedown but DeSouza sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Evans somewhat.
Evans throws a hook to the side of DeSouza's head but DeSouza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Evans misses with a telegraphed body shot
and DeSouza counters with a slapping leg kick.
Rob Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

DeSouza dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Evans. That did some damage!
Evans fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Evans is breathing heavily.
DeSouza lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
DeSouza misses with a looping left.

and DeSouza counters with a big head kick but Evans shrugs it off.

DeSouza swats away the attempt to clinch by Evans.
The fight stays on the outside here - DeSouza looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
DeSouza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Randy DeSouza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Evans avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Evans cracks DeSouza with a right hand to the side of the head.
Evans throws a predictable looking body shot
and DeSouza counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
DeSouza lands a front kick.

A nice leg kick lands there from DeSouza.
Evans swats away the attempt to clinch by DeSouza.
DeSouza fails in his attempt to clinch.
Evans misses with a jab to the body
and DeSouza counters with an outside leg kick.
Evans fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Evans is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down DeSouza rather than just go for the knockout.
Evans stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
DeSouza throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Rob Evans has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans looks to score with a jab to the body but DeSouza is just out of range.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says DeSouza as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy DeSouza dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Rob Evans's cut.
That's time! DeSouza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


DeSouza fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Evans.
Evans throws a hook but DeSouza avoids it easily.

Evans drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

DeSouza has his foot on Evans's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Evans works his way back into a safe position though.

DeSouza is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Evans has his hands clasped together but DeSouza extends an breaks Evans's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by DeSouza.
