PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mic Swick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dixon comes to the cage accompanied by It's A Fight by Three 6 Mafia. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mason Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mic Swick!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swick tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dixon was well out of range. Poor timing from Swick.
Swick connects with a nice looking jab.
Dixon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice shot lands for Dixon.
Dixon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Swick.
A combination from Swick does no damage.
Swick falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dixon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dixon throws a hook to the side of Swick's head but Swick sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A jab from Swick misses.
Dixon slips under a jab.
Swick thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mic Swick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dixon tries to clinch up.

and Dixon makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Swick really felt that one!

Dixon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Swick but Swick pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Swick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dixon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Swick stuffs the takedown attempt from Dixon. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet.

and Dixon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Swick's guard now.
Dixon prevents Swick from getting back to his feet.

Dixon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Swick wants to stand up but Dixon is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Swick throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Swick takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Swick is breathing heavily.
Swick looks to land a combination but Dixon avoids it well.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Swick, as that shot connected.

and Dixon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Swick throws a jab when Dixon was well out of range.

and Dixon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dixon thows a body shot but no joy.
Dixon slips a straight right by Swick.
Dixon dives in and grabs Swick's left leg, looking for a takedown. Swick pushes down on Dixon's head and hops out.

and Swick takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dixon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Swick as he jumps to the side.
Swick throws a nice looking combination but Dixon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Swick fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dixon manages to avoid it.
Dixon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Swick lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Swick throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dixon misses with a few strikes there.
Mason Dixon is winning the standup battle so far.
Swick walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Dixon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Swick steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dixon.

Dixon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Swick is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dixon.


Swick is rocked!
Dixon throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Swick colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Dixon as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Swick is left battered and dazed whilst Dixon and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mason Dixon!
