Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bartolomeo Goodyear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve McQueen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McQueen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hellbound Train. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartolomeo Goodyear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve McQueen!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goodyear decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Goodyear trying to control from half guard but McQueen is working away.

Goodyear is working for a kimura but McQueen is defending it quite comfortably.

Goodyear is looking for submissions but instead, McQueen has regained full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goodyear wants to pass the guard but McQueen is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goodyear slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ground and pound from Goodyear seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
McQueen gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Goodyear working for a guillotine from mount but McQueen is in no mood to give up.

Goodyear working for a submission but McQueen is keeping him at bay.

McQueen stops Goodyear from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
McQueen in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
McQueen is trying to escape the mount but Goodyear keeps good control and instead manages to take McQueen's back.
McQueen wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes.

Goodyear wants to control the pace but McQueen is squirming around nicely.

Goodyear working for a submission but McQueen is keeping him at bay.

Goodyear is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McQueen has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Goodyear goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McQueen is on top in guard.

McQueen wanted to stand there but Goodyear had control of the position.
Goodyear trying to keep a closed guard but McQueen is proving a slippery customer.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goodyear is on top in guard.
Goodyear pushing down on McQueen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bartolomeo Goodyear dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Goodyear feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Goodyear is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McQueen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McQueen has escaped and now he's on top!

Goodyear escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McQueen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Goodyear had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McQueen defends it easily.

Goodyear is looking for a triangle but McQueen pushes his legs off easily.

Goodyear is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Goodyear manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Goodyear goes for an armbar but McQueen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from McQueen.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Goodyear had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McQueen defends it easily.

Goodyear is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
McQueen is trying to stand up here but Goodyear is controlling him well.

Goodyear throwing shots but McQueen is blocking nicely.

Goodyear is looking for a kimura but McQueen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goodyear to get the leverage.
Goodyear wants to free his trapped foot but McQueen is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McQueen is looking to escape.
McQueen is breathing heavily.
Goodyear is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Goodyear closes the distance and clinches up with McQueen, looking for a takedown. Goodyear pushes McQueen against the cage but McQueen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Goodyear fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McQueen sprawls well initially but Goodyear persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Goodyear is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Goodyear is looking for a kimura but McQueen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goodyear to get the leverage.

Goodyear escapes and gets back to his feet.

Goodyear shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McQueen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

An elbow from Goodyear crashes against the mat.
McQueen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Goodyear has just dragged him back down to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Goodyear darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Goodyear wants to pass the guard but McQueen is defending well.
McQueen is looking to escape.
Goodyear is taking a breather. McQueen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Goodyear moves nicely into side control.
Goodyear trying to control the action but McQueen is working from the bottom.
McQueen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Goodyear tries to move to mount but McQueen blocks the move with his legs.
Goodyear throwing shots but missing, from side control.
McQueen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Goodyear has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Goodyear is trying to get an arm triangle but McQueen is defending well.
McQueen parries the strikes from Goodyear easily there. Goodyear is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McQueen to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Goodyear advances nicely into full mount.
Goodyear punishing his opponent with strikes.
Goodyear unloads with some shots from mount but McQueen bucks and avoids them well.
Goodyear lands a heavy elbow.

Goodyear has control of McQueen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McQueen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
McQueen is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Goodyear has taken his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Goodyear sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! McQueen taps out!
