PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between German Titov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gracie Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I SUCK. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Titov shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Titov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Titov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Titov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Titov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Titov off to one side.

Gracie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

German Titov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gracie Gracie.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Titov pushes his legs off easily.

Titov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Titov has Gracie in his guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that German Titov will probably get the nod.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Titov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Titov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Titov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Titov has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice uppercut lands for Gracie. That snapped Titov's head back.
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Titov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gracie forces Titov back against the cage and clinches.
Titov jumps guard but Gracie stands there with Titov around his waist. Titov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Gracie's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Gracie wants the takedown. Titov is fighting it off but Gracie persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Titov's guard against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Titov's guard.
Titov is trying to stand back up but Gracie is controlling him
German Titov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Titov tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
