Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Angle's choice of entrance music: Domination. Glenn Archer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glenn Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Angle!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Angle does no damage.

Angle darts in and clinches Archer up against the cage.

Angle jumps into guard, dragging Archer to the mat.

Archer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Angle wants to stand but Archer is controlling the position.
Archer trying to control but Angle is working from the bottom.
Archer is in close to Angle's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Archer stands and throws Angle's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Angle can't do much from the bottom here.

Archer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Angle has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Archer but great work by Angle.
Archer tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Angle decides to stand back up. Angle steps back and let's Archer get back to his feet.
Angle connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Archer's hands.

Angle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Angle lands in his opponent's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Angle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Archer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Angle tries to avoid it but Archer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Angle to the ground. Angle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Archer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Angle to score with a decent uppercut.
Angle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Archer circles away quickly and effectively.

Justin Angle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Archer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Angle sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Angle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Archer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Angle has managed to get both his arms back between Archer's legs - danger averted.

Well Angle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
