The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jose misses with a wild combination.
Jose misses with a few strikes there.
Paukku throws a hook but Jose avoids it easily.
Paukku throws an overhand right that lands on Jose's shoulder, as Jose tries to avoid the shot.
Paukku bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jose's head backwards.
Jose misses with a double jab.
Jose slips a jab from Paukku.
Jose shoots in looking for a takedown. Paukku tries to sprawl out of it but Jose keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Paukku manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Paukku misses with a wild combination.
Jose fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jose throws a nice looking combination but Paukku bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jose keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jose keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Paukku.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paukku moves into range and connects with a jab.
Jose steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Paukku.
Paukku scores with a jab to the jaw.
Jose takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Paukku misses with a looping right.
Jose shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paukku as he avoids it easily.
Paukku scores with a punch to the head.

Paukku throws a hook but Jose avoids it easily.
Jose fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Paukku avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jose moves in looking to clinch but Paukku pushes him off.
Jose scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Jose moves into the clinch successfully.
Paukku wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jose has him pressed against the cage.
Paukku scores with a shot to the side of Jose's head.

Jose breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Paukku throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Paukku will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Paukku cracks Jose with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Paukku displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jose.
Aku Paukku has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Jose.
Jose looks gassed!

Jose moves away from the strike by Paukku.
Paukku connects with a body shot.
Paukku fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Paukku lands a glancing blow to the side of Jose's head.
Jose takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Jose is rocked!
Paukku is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Paukku fakes the body blow, causing Jose to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Jose goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
