PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Parziale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Alvarez's choice of entrance music: I Stand Alone. Tony Parziale had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez connects with a single shot there.
Parziale looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Alvarez connects with a jab.
Parziale takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Parziale doesn't manage to clinch there - Alvarez circles away.
Parziale tries to clinch up but Alvarez circles away and keeps his distance.
Parziale really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A lazy left from Alvarez finds it's target.
Alvarez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Parziale in his tracks.

Parziale is rocked!
Alvarez connects with a right hand. Parziale shakes it off.
Oh Parziale is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alvarez drops Parziale with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Parziale looks back up at him and smiles so Alvarez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alvarez is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Parziale flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Parziale is out cold! Alvarez holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
