Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shom Harnick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chili Con Carne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Shom Harnick has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harnick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Con Carne paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Con Carne avoids the head kick by Harnick.

Harnick forces Con Carne back against the cage and clinches.
Con Carne blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Harnick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shom Harnick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harnick doesn't manage to clinch there - Con Carne circles away.
Harnick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Con Carne.

Con Carne has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Harnick regains guard immediately.

Con Carne tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harnick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Con Carne somewhat.

Let's hope that Con Carne has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Con Carne shoots in but Harnick avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Harnick tries to close the distance and clinch but Con Carne swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Con Carne shoots in looking for a takedown. Harnick tries to sprawl out of it but Con Carne keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harnick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round but I would say that Shom Harnick will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Con Carne connects with a nice short shot to Harnick's temple.
