Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Bonjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Riggs. No joy for Bonjasky on that attempt.
Riggs misses with a double jab.
Riggs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bonjasky counters with a nice double leg into side control. Riggs won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Riggs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bonjasky wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Bonjasky.

Bonjasky tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Riggs can't do much from the bottom here.

Bonjasky wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Riggs, who protects the arm well.
Riggs wants to control but Bonjasky postures up.

Bonjasky is looking to take a break and control but Riggs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Riggs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bonjasky on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Riggs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Riggs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bonjasky is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Riggs dodges the ground and pound from Bonjasky.

Riggs throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

and Bonjasky counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bonjasky.

Riggs working a defensive guard but Bonjasky passes into half guard.
Riggs has hold of Bonjasky's hands but Bonjasky slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Riggs is looking to improve his position.
Bonjasky working over Riggs with some ground and pound. Riggs looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bonjasky winds up and cracks Riggs with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Riggs is looking for a sweep. Bonjasky is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Riggs is trying to stand back up but Bonjasky is controlling him
Riggs is breathing heavily.

Bonjasky is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riggs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bonjasky.

Bonjasky is working for a kimura but Riggs is defending it quite comfortably.

Bonjasky is just content to waste time from the top position. Riggs takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Bonjasky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riggs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Riggs pushes Bonjasky off and gets back to his feet.
Bonjasky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Riggs falls off balance throwing a combination

and Bonjasky counters with a nice double leg into side control. Riggs won't be happy with that.

Bonjasky has an Americana. Riggs didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bonjasky is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bonjasky hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
