Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Bede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maro Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Bede!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maro Santos!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos tries to clinch up.
Santos gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Santos tries to clinch there but Bede circles away.
Santos doesn't manage to clinch there - Bede circles away.
Santos finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Santos tries to clinch but Bede moves out of range.
Bede throws a leg kick which misses Santos's front leg but catches the back leg as Santos tries to avoid it.
Santos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Santos misses with a straight left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bede tries a head kick but it misses.
Bede takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Santos wants to clinch.
Santos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bede sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bede swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Santos flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Bede stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bede has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Santos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Santos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bede stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bede wants it to stay on the feet.
Lucas Bede has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maro Santos.

Santos is desperately trying to improve his position but Bede has a good base and remains in mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bede is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Santos is surviving well by controlling Bede's body position as best he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santos throwing hammer fists to the chest of Bede. What's that going to do exactly?

Bede is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Santos can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Bede has control of Santos's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Santos regains control of the situation pretty easily.

so Bede counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Santos tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bede is working for a kimura but Santos is defending it quite comfortably.

Bede bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Santos's head backwards.

Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bede swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bede looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Santos is defending well. Bede quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Santos has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bede celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
