The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paquet moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Curtis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Paquet counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Paquet ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Curtis moves away.
Paquet lands a jab to the head.
Paquet thuds a left hand into Curtis's body.
Curtis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Paquet works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Curtis tries a head kick but it misses.
Paquet digs a good body shot into Curtis's ribs.

Paquet throws a combination. Curtis tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Paquet throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Curtis was covering up waiting for the punch and Paquet finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Paquet is in close to Curtis's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Paquet wants to pass the guard but Curtis is keeping the position.
Paquet postures up in Curtis's guard and throws a big left but Curtis blocks it.
Paquet works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Paquet tries to pass to full mount but Curtis defends it.
Paquet passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Curtis!
Paquet lands a heavy elbow.
Curtis is breathing heavily.
