PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Frazier!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Frazier.
Frazier fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Reed changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Frazier looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Frazier is looking for a sweep.
Frazier stops Reed from passing to mount.
Frazier tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reed wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frazier can do anything to dispel that myth.
Frazier tries to buck Reed off but Reed is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Frazier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Frazier swats away the attempt to clinch by Reed.

Reed closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frazier circles away.

Jimmy Frazier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Dean Reed will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
