The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dox swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Soenn scores with a hook to the body. Dox takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Soenn scores with a nice strike.
Dox shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soenn sprawls well. Soenn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dox gets slowly back to his feet.

Dox tries to keep at a distance but Soenn has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dox goes for a takedown in the clinch but Soenn prevents it.

Soenn lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dox backwards.
Soenn pressing his opponent against the cage.
Soenn lands with a short head shot on the inside.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Joe Soenn.
Soenn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dox moves away.
Dox moves away from the strike by Soenn.
Soenn thows a body shot but no joy.
Dox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Soenn.
Dox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Soenn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dox somewhat.
Joe Soenn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Dox.
Soenn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dox circles away quickly and effectively.
Soenn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dox throws a left and a right that both miss
and Soenn counters with a two punch combo.

Soenn moves into range and clinches up with Dox.

Soenn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Soenn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dox is looking to control Soenn's arms but Soenn gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dox has his back to the cage.

Soenn pulls guard.

Soenn is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Dox rolls with it to try and escape but Soenn cranks on the arm and Dox is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
