PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Humble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chief Orcus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chief Orcus!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Humble is trying to break free.
Orcus slowing the pace effectively.

Humble manages to break the clinch.
Humble avoids a punch combination nicely.
Orcus chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Humble can pounce on him.
Humble avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Orcus throws a head kick that misses.
Humble shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Orcus but Orcus pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Orcus jumps guard and drags Humble to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Orcus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Humble swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Humble wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Orcus manages to pass to side control.

Orcus decides to stand up.
Orcus takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Humble tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Orcus counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Humble is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Humble is trying to work for a kimura but Orcus is defending well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Orcus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Humble was covering up waiting for the punch and Orcus finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Orcus stands up over Humble, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Orcus decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Orcus tries to clinch but Humble moves out of range.

Humble drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Orcus is trying to control Humble's posture but Humble avoids it.
Orcus gets back to half guard.
Orcus wants to control but Humble is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Humble thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Humble content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Humble accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well Orcus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
