PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Leshley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Kline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leshley comes to the cage accompanied by I am the Dominator. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Leshley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Kline!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leshley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kline.
Leshley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kline as he avoids it easily.
Kline slips a jab from Leshley.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Leshley.
Kline uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Leshley.
Kline throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Leshley tries to clinch but Kline is having none of it.
Leshley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kline stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kline wants it to stay on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leshley lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kline holds on and takes a little breather.

Kline is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Leshley defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fight stays on the outside here - Leshley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Leshley throws a jab but it's blocked by Kline.
Kline looks to land a right hand but Leshley moved out of range.
Kline lands a nice looking body shot.

Leshley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kline is trying to control Leshley's posture but Leshley avoids it.
Kline tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Leshley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Kline's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Leshley is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Leshley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kline moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kline is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Leshley.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A frustrated look appears on Kline's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kline tries to buck Leshley off but Leshley is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Leshley is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kline will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Kline wants to improve his position but Leshley is controlling well.

Kline might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Leshley kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Leshley controlling the position easily from mount.
A nice elbow there by Leshley.
Kline tries to hold on but Leshley pushes him away.
Leshley takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kline is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kline manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Kline, under a barage of strikes from Leshley.
Nick Kline has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Leshley content to control rather than advance.

Well Leshley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
