Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janus Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jack Hammer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross stuffs the takedown.
Cross tries to clinch up.
Hammer shoots in for a takedown but Cross shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hammer fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Hammer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cross clinches up against the cage.

Cross tightens his grip and picks Hammer up, before dumping him to the ground. Hammer manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cross manages to get himself to full guard.
Hammer throws and elbow that misses. Cross uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hammer's guard. Nice move by Cross!
Cross cracks Hammer with a solid left hand.
Cross lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Hammer kicks Cross off and gets to his feet.

Cross scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hammer looks like he's trying to stand up.

Cross is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cross is pressing down on Hammer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hammer is holding on for now.

Cross is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hammer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cross.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hammer drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cross is looking for a triangle but Hammer pushes his legs off easily.

Hammer wants to stand up but Cross is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cross shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cross was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cross sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's time! Hammer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hammer tries for a takedown but Cross circles away easily

and Cross counters with a single leg into guard. Hammer didn't expect that.
Hammer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cross trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hammer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cross gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Janus Cross has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cross with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cross throws a strike but Hammer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hammer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cross is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cross has escaped and now he's on top!

Hammer is trying to keep Cross in close.
Cross stays in close to Hammer's body and controls the position.
Hammer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hammer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hammer is pulling down on Cross's head. It's preventing any offense from Cross, at least for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hammer is looking to stand up but Cross isn't so interested in that idea.

Hammer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cross is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hammer.

Hammer seems a little lost for a moment, as Cross dominates the positioning.

Hammer is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cross has just dragged him back down to the mat.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hammer is desperately trying to improve his position but Cross has a good base and remains in mount.
Cross won't let Hammer get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

You get the feeling that Hammer really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Cross drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hammer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cross has Hammer in his guard.

Hammer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cross has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cross!

Hammer has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cross off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Hammer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cross to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Cross shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cross showed some decent athleticism there.

Cross seems to be working for a kimura but Hammer defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cross in particular looking to stall.

and Cross holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hammer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cross gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cross gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hammer.

Hammer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cross is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hammer, into his guard.
Cross keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hammer's head.

Janus Cross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cross has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
